Starlight Christmas, Winter Illumination at the Central Gate of Shinrin Park.
The Starlight Illumination is the last of three annual illumination displays at Shinrin Park (Musashi Kyuryo National Government Park). When I first wrote this post in 2013 the illumination was called Starlight Christmas. The “Christmas” was dropped a few years later and is just called Starlight Illumination now.
Over the years the set up has also changed, but one thing remains the same: it is a beautiful night illumination display. They used to run Christmas concerts when it was called Starlight Christmas, but they have disappeared over the years. But they usually run some other events in conjunction with the Starlight Illumination.
All three illumination displays at Shinrin Koen added new features in 2019 to make the night light up more child friendly. The Captain Bubbles pirate ship and talking tree are two of the bigger features that were added.
