Iwatsuki Watsu street marche market

The Watsu Street Market is a regular event in the Iwatsuki Ward of Saitama City. There is usually one street market a month and each month they have a different theme. This month’s theme is “meat”! They will have several live Jazz performances on the day, which they call “Iwatsuki Jazz Stage”. There are also food and shop stalls as well as food trucks. The event maybe cancelled last minute if the weather is very bad.

There are four different groups performing on the day. You can see details for each (in Japanese) on the official website linked at the bottom of the post. A summary of the line up and times of the jazz performances:

In addition to enjoying the live Jazz music, you can also pick up food and handmade goods at the market. They have a workshop too. There will also be an Iwatsuki Doll museum promotion booth there on the day too. Again, the official event page (linked below) has great information about what stalls will be there on the day and what you can buy at them.

One of the most popular and special of the Watsu Markets, is the night market. There was just one in April, so the next one will probably be in the summer.
