Autumn fireworks Kita Kanto

This Autumn, for the first time ever, Kumagaya City in Saitama and Ota City and Oizumi Town in Gunma, will colloborate on a large scale fireworks display over the Tonegawa River. Between them, the two cities and one town will launch approximately 10,000 fireworks over the Tosui Bridge, which connects Northern Saitama and Southern Gunma prefectures.

Tosui Bridge Autumn Fireworks in Kita Kanto

As a sort of reward for persevering throughout the pandemic, the two cities and one town decided to host a fireworks display. The aim is to energize and inspire the residents either side of the Tone River following the pandemic. In addition, they hope to contribute to the revitalization of the area. What better way to raise a heavy heart and awaken us all from the dredges of the pandemic than with an uplifting fireworks display. It is not yet known if this is an once off event or if there will be more Tosui Bridge Fireworks in the future.

Endo Farm is relatively close to the fireworks site and they have a sunflower light up event the same night. How cool if you can see the fireworks over the lit up sunflowers:

Access

The nearest train station is at least a fifty minute walk away – Nishi Koizumi Station in Oizumi in Gunma, on the Tobu Koizumi line. Please note, that the Tosui Bridge will be closed to pedestrians from 5.40 pm. On the Saitama side, there are no train stations within a reasonable walking distance and unfortunately buses are also limited in this area.

If you are coming by car from the Saitama side, it is advised that you arrive well early. The streets around the launch site will be closed. Parking on the street is forbidden. Moreover, the official parking for this event is actually on the Gunma Prefecture side. Of the three official parking lots, there is a shuttle bus from the Gunma Prefectural Cancer Center. There is parking there for 1200 cars. There is also parking for 1200 cars at the Panasonic number three parking lot in Oizumi. In addition, there is a small parking lot at the Oizumi Town Hall. Again, the bridge will close to pedestrians from 5.40 pm, so be careful not to get stuck on the wrong side of the river! However, I suspect you will be able to see the fireworks from far and wide!
