Information for Fukaya Terrace Park and Vegetable Friends’ Farm, where you can experience fruit and vegetable picking. There is also a barbecue area and a restaurant on site too. The park and vegetable farm are located next to Fukaya Hanazono Premium Outlets. This post also includes information for upcoming events and the really nice water play area.
Fukaya Terrace Park
Fukaya Terrace Park opened in May 2022. Within the park there is a Vegetable Friends’ Farm. It is a really nice ‘park’, although not really a park in the typical sense. But it does have a lovely playground. Please note that the playground will be off limits from mid December to March 31st 2025 as they are doing work on the hill. There is also a really nice seasonal water play area in the park:
Water play area
Among the facilities there is a splash pad with fountain jets, which will get turned on Saturday April 26th for the 2025 season. There is a waterfall too. There is no shade over the water, but they usually have two tables with large parasols beside the water play area where you can get some shade. It is open from 9 am to 5 pm, but sometimes they close it on a weekday morning for cleaning. There are clean toilets right beside the water play area too.
Upcoming events at Fukaya Terrace Park
The annual Hawaiian Fes is on in April this year, on Saturday April 18th and Sunday April 19th 2026. From 10 am to 4 pm. There is no admission fee. “Two days to experience Hawaii, without going to Hawaii.” They have hula dance as well as food trucks and festival stalls with handmade goods and local merchandize sales. On Saturday April 25th there is a “car meet”, from 10 am to 4 pm. Currently no further information is available for this event.
There is a kids park flea market on Sunday May 10th from 10 am to 3 pm.
Vegetable Picking
At Vegetable Friends’ Farm you can pick your own vegetables, eat in at a restaurant with a salad bar or barbecue outdoors. The barbecue season is from March and daily from April 13th 2026. (Except for April 29th when they will close). Costs start from 4000 yen, with food included. More information and availability. You can also get an ice-cream to take away at the farm. I have not personally picked vegetables here yet. But I did walk around the vegetable farm. They’ve a great selection at this time of year. You pay per vegetable, prices start from 150 yen, then go pick the vegetable yourself.

Hours: 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and until 6 pm on weekends.
Cost: there is no admission fee into the grounds, but you obviously pay if you are having lunch there. You can also pay to pick your own vegetables. It is charged per vegetable. Prices start from 150 yen.
Access
Fukaya Terrace Park is located close to the (relatively new) Fukaya Hanazono Station on the Chichibu Railway Line. There is ample parking on a weekday, but the parking lot may get full during events.
There is a great roadside station in the area: Hanazono Roadside station.
Annual events previously featured on this post
- Fukaya Flower and Open Garden Festa 第21回ふかや花フェスタ＆オープンガーデンフェスタ. There are food stalls, food trucks, gardening stalls and live entertainment on the day at Fukaya Terrace Park. There are also lots of craft and hands on workshops including, but not limited to, bonsai displays and gardening classes. They normally also have events for children.
- Hawaiian Festival in May. They usually have another one in Autumn too, as far as I know. Official event website.
- They have a couple of dog fes a year.
